How to Give Homeroom/Gradebook Access to Secondary/Substitute Teacher

How to add a new/secondary Class Teacher to your existing Homeroom

Process:

     • Add substitute/secondary class teacher to the existing homeroom

            ▫ This will allow a secondary user to take attendance for a homeroom

     • Add substitute/secondary class teacher to the existing subject(s) (optional)

            ▫ This will allow a secondary user to record grades for a subject

Add Secondary Homeroom Teacher

Navigate to “Classes & Homerooms” > Click “Edit” for the existing homeroom:

In the pop-up, add the secondary/substitute teacher’s name onto the “Alternative Homeroom Teachers” field:

Simply click the red “Okay” button to grant access and close the pop-up. The secondary teacher will now have access to the homeroom for attendance taking purposes.

*Note: Please contact support to enabled the “Alternative Homeroom Teachers” field, if needed.

Add Secondary Subject Teacher (Optional)

If you need to allow a substitute teacher to add/edit the gradebook:

1. For school with sections:
Navigate to Subjects > Courses & Sections > Locate/Search for the Subject(s) > Click the subject row:

In the pop-up, add the secondary/substitute teacher’s name onto the “Alternative Homeroom Teachers” field:

Once saved, the additional teacher will have access to the section’s gradebook.

2. For school with subjects:
Navigate to Subjects > Global Subject Setup > Locate/Search for the Subject(s) > Click the “Edit” button:

In the pop-up, simply add in the additional subject teacher’s name to the “Teachers” field:

Once saved, the additional teacher will have access to the subject’s gradebook.
