The primary purpose of the OdysseyWare integration is so you can enter grades in OdysseyWare, and have those grades synched into the QuickSchools gradebooks. This allows you to then fully utilize Odysseyware for assessments and QuickSchools to produce report cards and transcripts. As the primary SIS, you can then share the grade information with students and parents.
Odysseyware and Ignitia are actually built on the same platform. So schools can use the Odysseyware Integration App to ALSO integrate with Ignitia. The app supports relabelling of the word "Odysseyware" to "Ignitia". For purposes of documentation, all references to Odysseyware also apply to Ignitia. |
INTRODUCTION
- New Students can be exported to Odysseyware
- Existing Students can be mapped to Odysseyware
- Update Students already mapped in Odysseyware
- CSV File with Student Number (as SIS Identifier) can be sent to Odysseyware, and mass updated
- Once the SIS Identifier is updated if Odysseyware, you can refresh in QS
NOTE: Not ALL students in QuickSchools need to be mapped, since only some of the students will be using Odysseyware (for example, others may use Canvas or Google Classroom)
- New Teachers can be exported to Odysseyware
- Existing Teachers can be mapped to Odysseyware
- Update Teachers already mapped in Odysseyware
- CSV File with Employee Number (as SIS Identifier) can be sent to Odysseyware, and mass updated

STEP 5: Map Grading Categories
- All Grading Categories must be mapped
STEP 6: Run / Schedule Gradebook Sync
- QuickSchools will look for all courses in the current academic term.
- Based on mapping of courses, QuickSchools will update enrollment of students into those courses.

GENERAL FLOW
Part 1: Map Data (Student, Teachers and Courses)
Start by mapping all available data between QuickSchools and Odysseyware. These include steps 1 thru 5. The mapping will facilitate the later synchronization of data from Odysseyware.
NOTE: You DO NOT need to enroll students into courses in QuickSchools. Simply map the student and the subject/section in QuickSchools with the equivalent in Odysseyware, and the Synchronization process will auto-enroll students into subjects in QuickSchools based on students’ enrollments in Odysseyware. |
Part 2: Use Odysseyware (Enroll Students, and Add Grades)
Proceed to use Odysseyware by enrolling students into courses, and adding grades.
Part 3: Synchronize Gradebooks
The Synchronization in Step 6 process will do the following:
- Auto-enroll students into subjects in QuickSchools based on their enrollment in Odysseyware.
- Pull the corresponding Gradebook data from Odysseyware based on mapped students and subjects.
INSTALLING THE APP
Go to the App Store to install and configure the Odysseyware LMS Integration.
ENABLING API ACCESS (from ODYSSEYWARE)
From Odysseyware, you’ll need to enable the OASIS API under “School Settings” > “Permissions”:
In addition, you’ll need to contact Odysseyware to get your API KEY.
CONNECTING TO ODYSSEYWARE
After the installation of the app, the Odysseyware will now appear on your menu.
Click the Odysseyware module and go to the bottom of the page to configure the connection to your Odysseyware account. You will need your API KEY from Odysseyware.
Enter your Odysseyware URL and API Key. Click Test Connection to connect your QuickSchools account to Odysseyware.
You’ll get a pop-up saying that connection is successful.
Once you have successfully connected your account, you may now map your Quickschools data to Odysseyware.
STEP 1: SYNCHRONIZE STUDENTS
First Step is the synchronization of students. You have three options depending on how you manage your original data.
MAP EXISTING STUDENTS
Use this option if you've already created students in both QuickSchools and Odysseyware.
Click ‘Map students’ and match the student from the dropdown.
EXPORT TO ODYSSEYWARE
Use this option to export students you've created in QuickSchools into Odysseyware. This will create NEW students in Odysseyware.
You’ll see the export button beside the unmapped students. Simply click ‘Export’ to create the student record in Odysseyware.
SEND REPORT TO ODYSSEYWARE
A third option is to run the “Export Students to Odysseyware” report, and send this report to Odysseyware to be imported in batch. This is again used to map existing students, but without you having to map each student manually.
The report is available under “Reports” > “Summary Reports” as a custom report:
IMPORTANT: When using this option, please click the “Resync Student Mapping from Odysseyware” in order to pull the latest mapped data from Odysseyware. |
STEP 2: SYNCHRONIZE TEACHERS
The process of mapping teachers is the same as with students.
Simply map the teachers in Quickschools to Odysseyware Teachers:
Use the Export option to create a record in Odysseyware.
Or send a report to Odysseyware for batch processing. As with students, when using this option, please click the “Resync Teacher Mapping from Odysseyware” in order to pull the latest mapped data from Odysseyware.
STEP 3: SYNCHRONIZE GRADING PERIODS
For Step 3, you will be mapping the academic terms in QuickSchools with the grading periods in OdysseyWare.
STEP 4: SYNCHRONIZE COURSES
You will be mapping the subjects in Quickschools to Courses in Odysseyware.
Note that only the Courses in Odysseyware with active enrollment will appear in the dropdown.
For performance reasons, the mappings are not automatically saved once you select a new value from the dropdown (as it does with the other mappings). For this page specifically, you will need to click the “Export Course Mappings to Odysseyware” after making any mapping changes, in order to save your work.
IMPORTANT: Please click the “Export Course Mappings to Odysseyware” after making any mapping changes. |
STEP 5: SYNCHRONIZE GRADING CATEGORIES
On this screen, you will see the list of your Grading Categories in Odysseyware. Simply select the Quickschools grading category from the dropdown to map them.
