Microsoft Azure for SSO

Microsoft Azure for SSO will allow users to login directly to their QuickSchools account using their Microsoft account -- Easing the workflow of schools who use multiple systems, and allowing them to access all these in a single place.

 

Setting up Microsoft Azure for SSO

Prerequisites:

  • Microsoft Azure account

  • Email used in Microsoft Azure is the username in QuickSchools

  • QuickSchools account must be set to a Group School

  • To enable SSO in QuickSchools, please send an email to support@quickschools.com

 

Creating an App in Azure

 

  • Click on Enterprise Applications (found on the menu in the left) > New Application

  • Click on Create your own application
  • APP SETUP
    • STEP 1: Enter the App Name (example: QuickSchools) > click on Integrate any other application you don't find in the gallery (Non-gallery) > Click on Create

    • STEP 2: In the App Overview, click on Single Sign-on > select SAML

  •  
    • You will then get this screen:

    • STEP 3: Setup the Basic SAML Configuration

      • Download the Federation Metadata XML Under Step 3 (this is to be used in the SSO Setup in QuickSchools)

  •  
    • STEP 4: Add Users to the Application
      • First ensure that the users are added to the Microsoft Entra ID
        • Go back to the Entra ID Directory Overview > Click on Users
        • Add users from QuickSchools to the Active Directory

    •  
      • Assign Users/Groups to the QuickSchools Application
        • In the Entra ID Directory Overview > click on Enterprise Applications > select the QuickSchools App you created

        • In the App Overview > click on Users and groups > click on +Add user/group

 

Configuring SSO in QuickSchools

As per the prerequisites aforementioned, your QuickSchools account should be set as a Group School and the SAML App be enabled in your account. Feel free to email us at support@quickschools.com to request Group School Setup and/or SAML App activation. Once the prerequisites are met, you can configure SSO in your account.

 

  • Go to Apps > My Apps > Single Sign-On (SSO) via SAML (BETA) > Configure
    • Set who can configure the SSO Integration > Save

  • Go to SSO Setup
    • Check the Turn on SSO option
    • In IDP Metadata XML click on Upload IDP Metadata
      • Select the METADATA file downloaded when creating the Azure Active Directory App
    • Save

Once the setup has been completed, you can test the connection by going to your Microsoft Apps, when you click on your QuickSchools App, you should be redirected to your QuickSchools Account.
